How Safe Can It Be?

What a display of disregard for public safety (“Gerri’s Malibu Grill,” July 2): a row of built-in barbecues plus an open crank-style one, all abutting a smoke- and fire-stained wall that is inches from live shrubbery!
With “3 1/2 mountainous miles of hairpin turns and dangerously distracting views,” I feel sorry for our firefighters trying to reach this site of potential disaster if a gust of wind took over.
Much pity, too, for the pictured dog “helping himself to some leftover salmon skin.”
