My point was that it's totally possible to set up the blacklist to block images that would get the tag, without the existence of said tag. Naturally, if the tag is going to exist anyway, people should apply it, which is why I apologized for forgetting it even though having it is dumb.

Hold up. Since when have we EVER had a policy of "You shouldn't be expected to tag your posts"? I mean, sure we are lenient about people forgetting some tags and the community helps fill in missing tags but I don't recall a single person ever successfully arguing that they simply should not have to tag posts.

It should be up to the poster to apply all the relevant tags that you are aware of. Not up to users to PREDICT THE FUTURE and set up chains of blacklists in the off chance some asshole decides they don't like a tag and will not use it. If you are allowed to not tag male_only because you think it's a stupid tag, who's to say that someone might in the future decide another tag is stupid for whatever reason and refuses to use it.

If you think it's stupid, go complain about it in your tags thread. But as long as it remains a valid tag, it should be treated as one regardless of if you like the tag or not.

Mindwipe and Changer are both wrong; what I wrote would not filter out a significant number of pics with girls; putting configuration burden and blacklist reliability on the per-account side has better returns than putting it on the per-image side.

However if it's already on the other boorus then I retract my complaint about having the tag in general. It's a stupid, stupid tag for stupid people but new user accessibility supersedes that, so we should keep it and add aliases like male_focus so that the tags are discoverable.

Kinda, and also because on Gelbooru, which we model most of our tags after, male/female tags ARE male_only/female_only. We just made it clearer what they meant.
