11 reasons Alabama fans are the most hardcore in the nation

Alabama fans are some of the most passionate in the country. Everyone knows that.

So For The Win compiled some of the craziest things Crimson Tide fans -- and coaches for that matter -- have done this summer to grab our attention.

In no particular order...

1. A fan took a day off from work to wait in the Wynfrey Hotel lobby hours before Alabama arrived at SEC Media Days while wearing this hat that cost $300.

2. A fan attended 781 consecutive Alabama games before passing away this summer.

3. A recruit got creative with his college announcement.

4. Nick Saban photobombed an Alabama graduate.

5. An Alabama fan regrettably misspelled his Alabama tattoo. And those things are permanent.

6. Defensive coordinator Kirby Smart slayed a giant snake.

7. A fan compared Saban to Hitler. And meant it as a compliment.

8. Alabama fans talked about what kind of impact Katherine Webb will have on the Crimson Tide's season.

9. Harvey Updyke, the famous Bama fan who poisoned Auburn's iconic oak trees at Toomer's Corner, was released from jail sporting a Yosemite Sam mustache.

10. A fan owns this incredibly decked out truck.

11. Someone bought the shattered remnants of the 2012 BCS trophy for $105,000 at an auction.

And the season hasn't even started yet!
